National Orange Ribbon Celebrations
This year, the Community Development Councils (CDCs) together with OnePeople.sg, Ministry of Community Development Youth and Sports (MCYS), and the Self-Help Groups (ie Chinese Development Assistance Council, Yayasan Mendaki, Singapore Indian Development Association, Eurasian Association and the Association of Muslim Professionals) will be launching the National Orange Ribbon Celebrations.

The National Orange Ribbon Celebrations aims to promote racial harmony by showcasing our diverse multi-ethnic and multi-national communities’ customs and traditions as well as to create a platform to showcase the various
racial harmony resources and programmes available at the CDCs and
OnePeople.sg.

Programme: Launch of National Orange Ribbon Celebrations:
Harmony Walk 2008

Date: Sun 6 July 2008

Time: 7.30am to 12noon

Venue: State Land next to Riverside Point (near Clarke
Quay/Boat Quay). Please see attached map.

Guest of Honour: Dr Vivian Balakrishnan
Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports

Dress Code: Sporting Attire / Casual
(Participants are encouraged to dress in orange to
support the Orange Ribbon Celebrations)

As part of the launch programme, we have put together a Harmony Walk targeting 4,000 participants from the Grassroots Organisations, Schools, Community and Religious Organisations. This street parade promises to be a colourful display of the various ethnic music, dance, costumes and food. The duration of the Harmony Walk is approximately 30 minutes.
