“Thank you for your taking your time for this interview. We
have quite a lot of interviews to conduct for the job. If we are interested
in hiring you, we will definitely get in touch with you.”
With these words, you shake the interviewer’s hands and quickly
walk out of the door. You are a picture of failure again.
Here is a quick wake-up call:
- You are not the only person who has been rejected in a job interview.
- If you give up your job search now, what life-lessons are you passing
to your children?
- You are not rejected as a person. Your job does not define who you
are.
- You may fit into the plans of another company. If you don’t
try, you may never know.
- Stop wishing about “the good old days” and start upgrading
your skills.
- “Now everything is about the internet. How?” Years ago,
people did not need the automobile and computer in their lives. History
was wrong!
- Use the internet to understand where your industry is heading.
These are some more thoughts to lift you up from
where you are now:
Your Learning Process
Every time you attend a job interview, you learn more about the
industry. Your interview actually provides you direction to your final
job.
Your Experience
If the interviewer keeps stressing that you are over 40 years
old and overlook your experience, this is a strong signal that even if
you are employed, your expertise may not be very valued for long.
Your Financial Position
People in the workplace may not have the time and energy to look
at their financial position. When job searching, the job-seeker may be
forced to relook at his financial position for the long term. He may be
more careful with his money once he gets employed.
Working For Yourself – Franchising
If you have sufficient funds and are determined to be self-employed,
the franchise model may be considered. This will save you the effort in
building a company from scratch.
