North East CDC recognises the importance of co-curricular activities in
developing well-rounded students. However, with limited Edusave funds
allocated, students have to top up with their own money to attend certain
courses or programme. Some of the courses can be expensive and this will
put students from needy families at a disadvantage as they may not be
able to afford them.
In collaboration with Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC), North East CDC
is setting up a fund called SPC – North East CDC Co-Curricular
Enrichment Fund. The fund aims to:
a) Promote the development of well-rounded students; and
b) Provide financial support to needy students who wish to attend courses
and programmes endorsed by the school.
The fund is open to all needy students from primary and secondary schools
in the Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC. Schools will apply on behalf of the
students who will receive a maximum of $100 each.
